Meet the Allen Family

Rev. Allen was born in Huntington, WV.  He grew up in the Huntington area and graduated from Barboursville High School.  Timothy served as a student pastor in the Western (formerly Huntington) district of the WV Conference of the United Methodist Church while attending Marshall University.  It was there he met and married KellyAnn, his wife of nineteen years.  Both are Marshall alumni.

Rev. and Mrs. Allen have three children: Zachary, age 17; Sarah, age 15: and Rachael, age 11.  Zachary is a Senior at PCHS.  He plays piano and organ. He has served as church organist at Olde Saint Johns Episcopal Church in Weirton, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Parkersburg and First United Methodist Church in Parkersburg.  Sarah, also a student at PCHS, has taken piano lessons, plays soccer, tennis, runs cross country and is in drama. Rachael, a student a PCES, is most interested in arts and crafts.  She plays soccer and has taken piano and violin lessons.

KellyAnn received her BA degree in Education and is certified to teach secondary math, business, and computer.  She has taught in Cabell County, Raleigh County, Garrett County (Maryland), and worked in the computer department of WV Wesleyan College.  She has also been employed as an in-house engineer for the Beckley based construction conglomerate Vecellio and Grogan.  Her hobbies include reading, sewing, and flower gardening.  She has been teaching math at Parkersburg Catholic High School since the fall of 2004.

After receiving his BA degree in Counseling, Rev. Allen completed an extended unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington.  He received his master of Divinity degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC.  Timothy also received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Wesley Theological Seminary, where he dealt particularly with Wesleyan studies, specifically the significance of sacramental theology and practice in the Wesleyan tradition.  He has served appointments in Huntington, Grantsville (Maryland), Bridgeport, Beckley, and most recently, Weirton.  He is an avid reader, a history buff, and enjoys classical music.

The Allen family is excited to be part of the greater Parkersburg community and gives thanks for the gracious manner in which they have been received.
